Significance of Safarjal/Bahi Fruit in Islam

 Quince is regarded as one of the fruits of paradise in Islam. It is also mentioned in several hadiths of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

• • Hazrat Talha narrates that he went to the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) with Safarjal in the palm of his hand and said, “Take it, oh! Talha, because it soothes the heart.”
  • Hazrat Jabir Bin Abdullah recounts that the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said, “Eat Quince because it heals cardiac problems and relieves heaviness from the chest.”
  • According to Hazrat Anas bin Malik, the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) directed Muslims to consume Safarjal on an empty stomach first thing in the morning.
  • · Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Masood رضي الله عنه says Nabi صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said, “Give your pregnant to eat Safarjal (Quince), and Hazrat Auf Bin Malik رضي الله عنه adds, it prevents cardiovascular problems and makes the baby son beautiful.”
