Indications:

Safoof Istehaza Khas is effective in excessive menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia). In cases of menstrual cramps, Safoof Istehaza Khas is beneficial. It is also used as an astringent to stop excessive uterine bleeding, which in turn normalizes menstrual flow

Protects the urinary tract from irritation and soothes irritation. It treats swelling and urinary tract infections.

 Symptoms:

Excessive bleeding during menses. Bleeding will be associated with body pain. In the pelvic area and lower abdomen, there is a burning sensation.

Possible Complications of Menorrhagia Disease:

• Anaemia and severe pain are the major complications of menorrhagia.
• Other systemic diseases and precautions to be taken
• Consider other conditions like obesity, insulin resistance, uterine or ovarian cancer, thyroid dysfunctions etc before planning treatment for menorrhagia.

Exercise:

Exercise should be avoided during bleeding. It is recommended to exercise mildly to moderately between bleeding days.

Causes:

Etiology Can be Classified Under three Heading:

Pelvic Cause

• a) Uterine fibroid
• b) Pelvic inflammation

Retroversion of the Uterus:

•     Endometriosis
•     Adenomyosis
•     Carcinoma of endometriosis
•     Intra-Uterine Contraceptive Devices (IUCD)

Endocrinal Causes

1. a) Hypothyroidism
2. b) Hyperthyroidism

Other Causes

1. a) Abortion
2. b) Ectopic Gestation
3. c) Psychological disturbances.

Salient Features:

• Regulates the menstrual cycle by restoring endogenous harmony.
• Provides phytoestrogens that result in the coordination of the HPO axis.
• Sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) is produced by phytohormones, which reduces plasma-free estrogen levels.
• Phytoestrogens modulate estrogen levels by acting as selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERM).
• It prepares the uterus for zygote implantation.
• Assists in the prevention of stress-related disturbances of the HPO axis by exerting adaptogenic action.
• Prevents the recurrence of vaginitis and leucorrhoea by exhibiting anti-infective and immunomodulatory properties.

Dosage:

3-5g with water Or Dahi ki lasi two times a day Or as directed by the Physician.
